William Sr. married Abagail Wooley, in Philadelphia, PA on February 2, 1711. Abagail was born in 1693 and some researchers say she died in 1745.William and Abagail had nine children.             

The first born was William Jr.who was born in 1721 in Philadelphia, PA,  and died May 8, 1809 in Maidenhead, W.Va. The newspaper the Trenton Federalist, issue 15, May 1809 stated that William Snowden, who died, "Monday the 8th day of May in his 89th year was formerly from this city. History also shows the William Sr. and Jr. of Trenton signed a deed conveying a tract of land June 26, 1752, which they had obtained from the estate of Col. Daniel Cox, on March 15, 1743. Another mention of William Snowden Sr. and Jr.,was in the Pennsylvania Gazette on March 4, 1756. The Gazette carried a advertisement for a "Commodious plantation....about four miles from Trenton on the great road leading to Amwell. (this would be the village of Ewing)...Any person inclining to purchase may apply to William Snowden at his mill in Amwell or to William Snowden Jr. on the premises."

       Second born of William Sr. and Abagail Snowden was Margaret Snowden. Margaret was born 1725, she was of Hopewell, Hunterdon, N.J. She died in 1817 at 92 years old. She married Richard Hart of Hopewell, he was born circa 1718/19 and he died in 1773. Hopewell is a town in the area of Amwell and Trenton.           In 1727 David Snowden was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He died February 3, 1801, in Bordertown. He married Hannah not known what her maiden name was. Hannah was born circa 1735, and died December 9, 1801, at 66, in Bordertown. David was a clerk of Montgomery Township, from 1775-1784 and an elder in the Hopewell Baptist Church in 1790. (Info found in a book by, Lida C. Gedney, ed., The Town Records of Hopewell, N.J., Little and Ives Co., N.Y., 1931, pgs, 140, 146-7, 155.)

           In circa 1728, Ruth Snowden was born, in Perth Amboy, N.J. She died circa 1795-1802. Her will was dated June 26, 1295, in Bordentown, and was proved March 6, 1802. Ruth married Richard Allison II of Hopewell. Ruth named as executor, William Snowden.

           Unknown female Snowden was born in 1729 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Also another unknown Female Snowden was born in 1733 in PA and died in New Jersey.  One of these unknown Females, married William Welling of Trenton. He would of been born circa 1729 and died 1777, in Hopewell. ( Genealogy of Early Settlers in Trenton and Ewing, Trenton, N.J., 1882, pg, 96, 219, 302.) 

         Joseph Snowden, our direct ancestor, was born in 1725-1730. Joseph died in 1799 in Brooke County, W.VA.He married Sarah, not known what her maiden name was. She was born in 1725 and died in 1795. Joseph is our direct descendant, and will be further talked about in Generation Six.

          Mary Snowden was born in 1738 and died September 29, 1798. She married Daniel Scudder, who was born 1736 and died June 5, 1811. Both Mary and Daniel are buried in the Ewing Presbyterian, Churchyard in Trenton.  Daniel was named to the Committee of Correspondence for Trenton, under date of March 1776.         Last and number nine child of William and Abagail Snowden was John Snowden. He was born 1740 in PA and died in New Jersey, I believe. He married Susannah Cook. She was the daughter of Abiel Cook of Upper Freehold, N.J.. Was listed as a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church on July 22, 1786.
